Terms of Service

By using Dwelen, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Dwelen is a concierge home-building platform that connects Nigerian diaspora clients with vetted builders in Nigeria. We facilitate introductions and provide oversight services — we are not a construction company and do not directly employ builders.

• You must be 18 or older to use Dwelen. Users between the ages of 18 and 21 acknowledge that home construction projects in Nigeria typically involve significant financial commitments. Dwelen strongly recommends consulting with a parent, guardian, financial advisor, or legal professional before committing to any project of this scale.
• Project information you provide must be accurate
• The $499 Standard connection fee is non-refundable once builder introductions have been made
• Dwelen is not liable for the quality of construction work performed by matched builders
• Premium monitoring services are subject to separate agreement and pricing

• Builders must maintain accurate CAC registration
• All information provided during vetting must be truthful
• Builders may not contact clients outside the Dwelen platform until formally introduced
• Dwelen reserves the right to remove builders who receive verified complaints

• Connection fees are processed via Stripe
• Dwelen does not store credit card information
• Disputes must be raised within 30 days of payment

Dwelen’s liability is limited to the amount paid for services in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Dwelen operates as an introductory and concierge platform. We connect clients with independent third-party professionals including but not limited to builders, contractors, architects, surveyors, engineers, lawyers, and other construction-related specialists (“Service Providers”).

Dwelen is not a party to any contract, agreement, or transaction between clients and Service Providers. All work performed, quotes provided, materials supplied, timelines committed to, and deliverables produced by Service Providers are the sole responsibility of those Service Providers.

While Dwelen vets Service Providers before adding them to our network using criteria including CAC registration, portfolio review, and reference checks, this vetting does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, or endorsement of any Service Provider’s work product, conduct, financial standing, or ability to perform any specific project.

Clients acknowledge and agree that:

1. Any disputes regarding work quality, project delays, cost overruns, structural defects, breach of contract, fraud, negligence, or any other issue arising from their engagement with a Service Provider must be resolved directly between the client and the Service Provider.
2. Dwelen is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost, or expense — direct or indirect — arising from a Service Provider’s acts, omissions, conduct, or work product.
3. Dwelen does not hold client funds in escrow unless explicitly stated in a separate written agreement. Payments to Service Providers are made directly by the client to the Service Provider.
4. Clients are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before engaging any Service Provider, including reviewing contracts, verifying credentials, and confirming insurance.

While we will reasonably assist in mediating disputes where possible, Dwelen accepts no legal responsibility for the actions or work of Service Providers introduced through our platform.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and, where applicable, the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Maryland or, where the dispute arises from services rendered in Nigeria, the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
